Cyanotype Making Workshop - April 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

$100.00

On April 19, Jake Nelson returns to lead our popular four-hour workshop introducing students to the art of the cyanotype. In this workshop, students will get hands-on experience going through the entire process of making cyanotypes.

Students will learn how to prepare the chemical solution, how to properly coat materials, how to find exposure times and how to develop and wash cyanotypes. We will cover a variety of printing methods using cyanotypes.

Students will need to submit one photo before the workshop that they would like made into a digital negative. We will print the digital negative on a piece of transparency, allowing for it to be used in the cyanotype process. It is recommended to submit detail-rich images with relatively even tones for best results.

Students will finish this workshop with a digital negative, UV sensitive cyanotype paper and their completed cyanotype prints. The cyanotype prints will have to dry, so students will need to return sometime in the next week to pick up their prints.

At Franklin FOTO we never want finances to be a barrier to access. Please feel free to use our sliding-scale to pay whatever amount makes sense for your budget.
